Allied London and 3 Hardman Street win at Property Week Awards

Allied London has been crowned ‘Overall Developer of the Year’ at this year’s Property Week Office Development Awards.

The developer also took home the award for ’Best Development Outside London’ for 3 Hardman Street - the latest building to be completed at its Spinningfields development in Manchester.

Judges for the awards – which took place earlier this week - commented on the “design and quality of the building and the exceptional and striking full height atria.” The judges also noted Spinningfields as the “largest city centre office scheme in the UK with the latest landmark office building.”

This is the fifth award 3 Hardman Street has won this year and comes hot on the heels of its win at the recent Regional BCO Awards for Best Commercial Workplace which highlighted Spinningfields reputation for quality and design, even at the height of a global economic downturn.

At 350,000 sq ft, the striking building was a specification ahead of its time offering the largest single floor plates in the city ranging from 10,000 sq ft to 35,000 sq ft. The building was designed by Sheppard Robson and built by Bovis Lend Lease.

Tenants include BDO Stoy Hayward, Bank of New York Mellon, Pinsent Masons, Regus, Baker Tilly, Beachcroft, PKF, Shoosmiths, The General Medical Council, Barclays Bank and Pure Gym.

Stuart Lyell, Development Director of Allied London Properties said: “Designing a large 350,000 sq ft speculatively developed office required three priorities – optimum flexibility, sustainable technology and a building specification of the highest prestige which has been a major factor in achieving an 80% pre-let building before completion and demonstrating the success of the project.”
