THE BUILDINGS /

1 Spinningfields Square

1 Spinningfields Square was designed by Allied London specifically for The Royal Bank of Scotland (Bank). Allied and the design team aimed to create a bold design statement in a new office location that was on a very prominent site on Manchester’s main commercial thoroughfare, Deansgate.

The building was designed for multi-occupation, the Bank originally intending to take only the upper floors. Such was the attraction of the building that, together with rapid expansion of the customer facing departments within the Bank, the Royal Bank decided it would occupy the whole building.

The building is now its North West headquarters building and is without doubt one of best designed buildings within Spinningfields and certainly in Manchester. The building has floor plates of some 22,000 sq ft, a prestigious entrance, future hospitality rooms on the top of the building and a series of multi-function space throughout the building.
